Hearts Hybridized: 2

Well-written poem!

domainofshane

I compared you to a sun.

The sun is a star

And just like those balls of flame

It started out small, but only with my vision.

For I was once far away

And your light was a pinpoint.

Do you remember?

You were the only star in the sky.

Faint, solitary

With nothing but darkness surrounding you.

That’s all my weary eyes could see – darkness.

But in the middle was a tiny light,

For I saw you from afar.

I know not how, but I found the courage.

I drew nigh.

The light grew,

Illuminating my life,

Revealing a spectrum of colors

That had never before existed.

The colors were your different shades,

The separate facets of your soul.

Anyone could see them, even with a chasm of distance between they and you.

But I drew nigh.

And your colors – a supernova.

From that first letter, scribed…

Bright Beauty: A poem

Bright Beauty,

A woman from dust whose skin is pale.

She sat at the edge of a tree,

With her wings spread far.

She was placed in a white robe.

Her smile was enchanting.

It would send cascades of hope to you.

But if you gazed upon her eyes

They would capture you,

Pulling you fast into a new world

Where they say it is more real than here.

A place where she says our Father lives.

She reads words from His book and tells me

“It is beyond comprehension.

That no eye has seen,

That no ear has heard.”

His words pounded like thunder through my ears.

……….

As I looked at Her hair (it was long and blonde),

She left behind a shadow

That cast her legacy.

It swallowed me up

In a mixture of dark suffering.

I fell onto a path that had been laid out for her.

She watched me feel her pain

As my feet travailed across the rocks.

Some were jagged, they hurt me.

As darkness and ash rushed towards me,

I looked up to find her.

She nodded and told me

“Our Father says ‘Do not be afraid of those who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body.’”

……..

The tree grew faint –

I lost sight of Beauty.

And His words were carried on the wind.

………..

I noticed the path was lined with deep red roses,

Blue and purple flowers.

I could hear birds and laughter in the distance,

But my view was foggy and dark.

I kept walking and the darkness began to fade.

The sun peeked through,

And I found myself back at the big tree – and there sat Bright Beauty.

She said to come and sit under the tree.

As I walked closer, snow flakes began to fall.

Within seconds, we were surrounded by a beautiful winter wonderland…

But we were not cold.

Bright Beauty smiled

And all the snow twinkled like diamonds.

She went up the tree

Under the highest branches

As snowflakes glided down her cheeks.

She said “Our Father is coming to get us one day soon

So that we may be with Him.

He is preparing a home for all of you,

As He has for me, so that we can live with Him forever.

Be ready and tell others what good He has done for us.”

Bright Beauty walked towards her body that lay at the edge of the tree.

She said she was in a deep slumber

And that one day,

We would all rise up together.

To be with our Lord and Savior,

Jesus Christ.

That he is the way, the truth, and the life,

And that no man cometh unto the Father but through him.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

And shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,

Thou shalt be saved.

Jesus said to her “I am the resurrection and the life.

The one who believes in me will live

Even though they die.

Bright Beauty ascended on as her body lay still in a slumber

At the end of the tree.

……….

Scripture reads,

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

“As it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.”

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
